Strauss-Kahn: I Have Diplomatic Immunity

Former managing director of the International Monetary Fund or IMF, Dominique Strauss-Kahn has claimed diplomatic immunity when it will be captured. This was revealed in the investigation report released in New York on Thursday (06/16/2011). 

In the document was recorded Strauss-Kahn told the Airport Authority, "I have diplomatic immunity." However, four hours later, the New York police and the Manhattan Special Victims squad, the former number one in the IMF said, "I will not use it (diplomatic immunity. I just want to know if I need a lawyer."
At its first session, June 6, Strauss-Kahn declared not guilty to seven charges related to reports of sexual assault by a chambermaid Hotel Sofitel New York. The IMF has said Strauss-Kahn has the right to use diplomatic immunity if the alleged crimes related to finance.
Strauss-Kahn was detained in the Air France plane at New York International Airport. He repeatedly asked why his detention.

Strauss-Kahn's lawyer, Ben Brafman, declined to comment on details of the case. "Our defense will only be done in the courtroom," he said shortly after hearing June 6.
